Default First Track Day Summit Point Jefferson

I had a blast even though it was freezing. Actually, snowing when i left my house this am with about a half inch or so in manassas. snowed during a few sessions too, but I think it was a good first track experience. You HAVE to be smooth or else you're gonna get bit. I road really straight up a lot and then started getting off more but kept my upper body too centered and should've been off more. I hate the cold and the high was around 35...I never ride in that crap. But here's some pics...

Very nice.

Is that the A group?

Next time put your head closer to the windshield, your body position is too upright.

So are you hooked?

i was thinking that as well, but everyone looked pretty upright. i bet the pace was pretty slow since it was so cold. thats how it was here in atlanta... very slow for a few laps, its REAL slippery..

this was just beginner. yeah, i know i definitely need to get my whole upper off more. i was real tense with the cold and i'm sure for my first day. it was seriously in the low 30's all day but we finally started pickin' up the pace. the track is only 1.1miles so you don't get up to but maybe 130 or so but i loved it and will definitely do more.

My first track day was on the same bike as you in the pouring rain, so probably not much different than 30 degrees, first time out with that much power and probably little traction to be found you did good just to keep it up right. First day is just about learning how track days are run and seeing a track, next time out with some proper weather you can start really going fast and then honing your techniques.

Yeah, main is a little more than twice the length and i think 3 or 4 more turns and it should be an 80degree day. can't wait to go try again...just sucks you can't really 'practice' in between with all the elements on the road...closest thing to it has to be the mountain or a cloverleaf but so much sand and salt and gravel. oh well, it was fun and i'll definitely be back
