Re: First bike
Good deal, nice bike. As for your first bike...my brother got the nekkid version, and it was a great first bike. As with every bike, becareful how you twist that throttle and you'll be fine. This is also a bike that you can enjoy for many years to come.

Re: First bike
Nice deal, nice bike. I would suggest taking the MSF course and looking up motorcycle crashes on youtube, break.com, take a look at this thread: Link and make sure you think about the consequences if you want to crack the throttle any place other than the track.
Good luck and safe riding. Keep the rubber side down.

Believe me i've seen my share of videos hence the reason I've been spending so much money on gear. I know i should have gotten a smaller cc to learn on, but this deal seemed to good for me to pass on and I was pretty confident on my learning ability. Prior to any mods other than maintanence, all my money is going towards gear. Thanks for the concern

Re: First bike
soooo jealous here. My brother has one and it's just awesome....my next bike will be a liter twin or triple...nothing like them and I'll probably never have another I4 bike. Thats an amazing deal and you're lucky I didn't find it first because I would have snatched it up immediately at that price
While a poor choice for a first bike...keep the revs low and take it very easy. You can short shift a bit and it will still pull without lugging as easily as a inline 4 bike. I warn you that are deceptively fast because they pull everywhere so watch your speed..when riding my bro's I was always surprised how fast I was going and was always having to slow myself down whereas on my zx6r it's easy to keep it in check for some reason. Too much confidence on a bike that size will equal wrecks so keep your ego in check. Take the class and most importantly get a set of bolt ons for it so it can release that awesome exhaust note

Re: First bike
When I was looking for bikes I found a 900RR and was thinking about buying it for my first bike, but didn't want to kill myself. Skroozloose suggested getting a throttle limiter so that you can't on accident rev it to hard. Might want to look into that. I have a 600 and I might look into it lol.
