Cycle whore thread
Some people just wont listen, Im guity of not wearing proper gear sometimes. but Ive also had a buddy go down right in front of me in Pungo so that kinda gave me a jolt. Id hate to say it but sometimes the hard way, is the only way.
Or if it bothers you that much tell him you wont ride with him?

I do track the bike. Summit main on 9/11 is the next one coming up. Then NJTB in OCT and barber in NOV.
I have tried to get this guy to come to the track, but his argument of not coming is "Because my bike isnt fast enough" All I can do is explain from my experience but shit is a lost cause.
He wont do a track day because if he cant be the fastest in the straights, he thinks its a waste of time. I just dont understand some people and this mofo is one misguided fool.
i started with nesba. and after 5 days an being bumped to I on my 3rd day, i still learned more in that one day at the school than all my trackdays combined.
but yeah, u can stick to nesba. lol.
theyre ok, but they used to be better. kinda lost love for em.
it was more a suggestion for your friend tho, but you'd like it too.

I am sure this is old as dirt from 2-3 years ago. But I got a friend that will not buy the proper gear and I have had several discussions with him about going fast, leaning hard (poor guy has no form at all trying to keep up in the twisties) with jeans and a vega textile jacket with foam padding. So I come across this gem http://www.drivecompany.cc/news/?p=35 and forwarded it to him. He stated back "Still dont need leathers on the street"
How in the hell can I get it in this dudes head (a family man, good guy, but fuck bro) that shit needs to be taken serious.
He doesnt lean off his bike taking turns at 60+ moh. Crys that he almost goes down from his pegs hitting the ground. So I try to offer what I know and have been taught about riding (draggin knees and form for taking turns. But the dude is a lost cause.
Just wondering if you guys have any other options of persuading someone to take this shit serious. Because at this point I dont want to stop my ride time to take this dude to the hospital. We do exceed the speed limit in certain areas and I know in time he will be either one with the pavement or purchasing a new piece of leathers and thanking god he listened.
Advice?

actually I didnt get to ride yesterday. I go out to the garage to pull the bike out, and my rear tire was flat. Small piece of metal (like a staple, small nail) put a hole in it. So no riding for me until next weekend.
