anyways, u guys have probly gotten a lot of questions like this, but ima go ahead and ask it anyway,
I Just got my Motorcycle learner's permit, and well, how do i get riding experience if i don't have a guardian that has a Motorycle license and can ride a bike along side me, and all the classes are booked til next year?!?!

And well, as for starter bikes, i was thinkin bout gettin maybe a 1300 GSXR, or possibly a Ducati 996, or maybe as low as a 1000GSXR, what do you guys think?
hahaha, jk. But what do you people think would be a good beginner bike, i know 250s would be good, but would a 500, or 600 be too much to start out on?

Any feedback would be great.

ninja 250, 500, or a SV650 would ideal... atleast with the SV you've got plenty of bike to satisfy you for ever

but to get riding experience maybe try and meet some people with bikes that can help show you the ropes, or get in one of the classes that are booked by finding out when it is, then showing up half an hour early and you can take the spot of the no-shows which always happens

i think any 600 cc bike is a good start. you wont get bored with it but the power is not overwhelming either. older honda f2 and f3 are available all over the place at a pretty good price as well as katanas, older yzf's yada yada yada. better to start on a useed bike though so it doesnt hurt mentally so much when you wreck it. personally i think id get bored with a 250 and probably even a 500. my .02

ya, a 600 sounds good, i was thinkin bout those but some ppl were sayin that u should start out on a 250. Although I've never ridden one, i think a 250 would be boring to ride, not at first, but shortly after. Thanks for the input, by the way, does anyone know any good dealerships or whatever that sells used bikes?

thanks, but i dunno how much they charge, but im looking for a used sport bike, preferably under $3,000. Also what do you guys consider high mileage for a used bike?

Normally id flame you beyond recognition, but i liked the way you asked your questions... for additional help, try cycleforums.com, sportbikes.com (has a great beginners FAQ page), and sportbikes.net. as for a starter, 500-600cc is the way to go. as far as riding expierience, welp, youll either have to find a REEEEEEAAALLY good buddy or just buy ur bike. you dont have to take the class and if you have your permit, there are plenty of us scattered around the 757 that ride frequently enough for you to tag along on slow nights where no real tom foolery is taking place.good luck. and if ur ready to buy a bike, troll cycleforums.com, sportbikes.com, sportbikes.net, dcsportbikes.com, cycletrader.com, ebaymotors.com, and your local trading post and cycletrader magazine (the web site and mag are completely different 99% of the time).
