Default Buying bike?

How much should i offer for a 1989 fzr 600. Has 21699 miles on it and is in has a couple of samll cracks on left and right fairing but its nothing im really worried about seeing how this is my first bike. Other then that it is in excellent condition and is clean as hell. Had my friend ride it to check it out and everything was golden. They want 2000 for it how much should i offer for it.

average in the two values or watever, but i mean as long as its mechanically straight, $1000 would be good or maybe even $1200, but remember you can get 600cc bikes up to like 98 or so, for around 2-3k sometimes. I got my first bike, a 1996 zx6e, for $2k, it had 24k miles and ran perfect, AND i got it during June, when prices are usually pretty high.

AND FOR A BEGINNER BIKE, make sure u get FRAME SLIDERS, haha, they will help u out more than u could possibly imagine.

kbb is 1,900, that seems a little high to me even for a good condition one... but personally i'd start at 1,500, then figure what it needs, tires, chain, sprockets, brakes, tune up, no matter what a 1989 bike with 22,000 miles will need something, i'd take all that and subtract it from the price of the bike, or tell them do the work themselves and you'll pay them 1,500, if its in excellent shape

Yah I think 2k is too much... For an old bike it definitely needs maintenance...
