Anyone pick up the October issue of Motor Cyclist?
It's all about electric & hybrid motorcycles. Kind of random topic I know but some of the bikes are pretty interesting. KTM's offering is pretty interesting to me. Weighs in just less than 200lbs and said to have the performance of their 250 and likely to be street legal.

and the torque of an electric motor would be crazy on a bike. use of the most advanced batteries should be able to give a bike some crazy power in a light balanced package for at least an hour i would think.

MPG doesn't tell the whole story. Bikes before 2006 didn't have cat convertors (most of them anyway). Actually i'm not sure how many post 2006 have them, but i know a lot of the sport bikes have been equiped it seems.
bikes polute more then good running cars. But they do get better mpgs (sometimes, you'd be surprised how shitty the mpg is on most sport bikes. upper 20's and mid 30s are in the middle range from what i've read).
Electric bikes are coming, probably as hybrids first. It will be a good thing. I wont own one anytime soon, but i'm sure that they will be available.
