Re: anyone got a stunt bike?
yeah, what he said....
BUT, no one makes a cage or a 12 bar for a gs500. i know, i stunt one. i had to make my own cage and bar. not hard to do, and with my huge cage tubing and the gs's steel frame, that thing is bulletproof!! getting a rear stunt sprocket is easy. the bolt pattern on the sprocket is the same as any older (pre 96) gsxr, any katana, and any bandit other than the 400.
it makes a sick stunt bike as long as you never plan to ride it on the street. mine will do a whopping 50mph tops with the gearing that's on it. it'll snap the front up in any gear though. the big wide tubular bars that come on gs's work great for stunts, as you get alot of leverage on the front end. i'm going to be putting an sv650 front suspension on it though, to get better front brakes. i've just got the stock rotor on the front with a busa 6 piston caliper at the moment.
steel subframe is nice, if you tweek it (and you will) just smack it with a 5lb hammer till it's reasonable straight again. if you break it, it's alot easier (and cheaper) to weld steel than the aluminum subframes on most sport bikes.
best part is that the oil pickup for the oil pump is at the rear of the motor, which means standing the bike straight up won't starve the bike of oil like on alot of bikes. that means the motor will last alot longer than most other stunt bikes.
any more questions??

Re: anyone got a stunt bike?
any year.. they're all the same, with the exception of the new plastic on the 04 (?) and up.
i saw a guy ROCKIN a 250 ninja today. bike couldn't have been good for more than 40mph with that gearing, but damn, he was just rippin that lil bike.
all you really need to do is learn rear brake control, once you get that, everything else is cake (for the most part)

damn I just saw a gs500 for cheap the other day too. I'll need to hit you guys up in a month or 2 when I have my truck and a 50. I'm going to do the rest of the work (other than paint) on my cb750 chopper this week so if you know anyone thats looking for a $1500 obo chopper let me know as I'd rather sell locally

if you need some help with anything, just let me know, it'll just cost you a quick ride on that 400sm

I think I have everything under control at the moment. I honestly haven't done all that much to it. I bought it running and mainly have been working on the seat/tank/fender/bars. I might need some wiring help if I get lost. Everything works but the majority of the wiring is crimped together poorly or just wires twisted together. I need a new regulator but don't want to spend the $120 for a new one so it may be sold without one. I hate to put too much $ into a bike that may bring me $1,500 tops on a good day
