An avid part of the northeastern North Carolina biker world, Mike (Willis) Caddy, from Manteo NC, was mowed over by a car running a stop light. The driver then fled the scene but was later apprehended. Willis is currently in the Halifax Trauma Center located in Daytona Beach, Florida. Willis, to the extent of my knowledge, has a severely crushed leg (16-17 sperate breaks and multiple compound fractures) and extreme lacerations to his head (with about 600 staples) from the windshield of the car. He is in stable condition but is still undergoing surgery/treatment.

If you have ever been to the Northeastern Dragway in Nertford, NC, you have probably met Willis (on his Honda Shadow) or his wife Laura (on her beautiful green Harley) or his daughter Blythe (on her Pink GSX-R 600.) They have always been big into bikes and the drag racing scene.

These are the facts as I know them currently. Please keep him in your prayers.

thats terrible... if only the punishment was the driver of that car gets thrown into interstate traffic, he'll probably get a few points on his license and not miss a day of driving

 

I doubt that. Him fleeing the scene is going to make it all the worse. He will definitely will get hit with a hit and run, and possibly even an involuntary manslaughter.

prosecution would have a hard time getting that considering he's alive... i just know these things usually result in what is basically a slap on the wrist, even when the rider does die
