Default Advice from stunt people

Hey guys, im just curious, when you clutch the bike up, do you kinda slip it out after revving, or do you just rev it up and just pop the clutch? I mean, ive got it up in second just rolling at about 50, but its really weird now....seems like when i do that the back tire kinda spins out a little instead of grabbing.

Is it just my way of doing it, or do you think that my tire isnt grabbing the pavement cuz the roads are too cold for it to warm up. I just put new pilots on the front and back.

No slipping always drop the clutch. If your spinning rear tire you have too much weight over the front and your not smooth when dropping the clutch-u cant just pin it and drop it. I wheelie in the rain when its really slippery and you have to give it a little bounce when you let the clutch out easy so u don't spin.

awesome man, that should help me out a lot. How about tire pressure, how much does that effect the bikes stunting abilities?

For slow wheelies you want the tire pressure low so you have more of a footprint on the ground for balance.

+1

Myself, I keep full pressure always for circle wheelies. Its hard to circle on a flat tire.

Only time you ever take pressure out, is when your first starting to learn slow wheelies in 1st gear w/rear brake, to eliminate the side to side motion/stability of the whole bike. You dont have that problem doing 50 mph wheelies-u get high speed wobbles going fast-a flat tire would make that worse.

im still kinda new at the whole scene of trying stand-up wheelies, so i get kinda shook when i bring the wheel up. Ive been trying 3rd gear pulls, sometimes i can get it up, but most of the time i feel like im doing a push-up on the bike, and the front wheel just hops off the ground. I know i have WAYYY more room to bring the wheel up in the air, its just im still kinda weary about it, so i seem to always let off the throttle and drop it back down cuz im afraid ill flip over-haha. Any advice about stand-ups?

EDIT: Basically, what would be the best way to practice throttle control?

Don't chop the gas and get the bike up to balance point as quick as you can without looping. If your constantly gaining speed after you drop the clutch, your wrong. You have to get it up really high really fast.

Until you learn rear brake, you'll never have FULL control of the bike so unless you enjoy looping out a wheelies going +50mph (i don't know who would?), I'd highly suggest practicing in a parking lot in first gear very slowly with crashcage/wheelie bar, and protective gear on.

where can i get one of those crashcages at? Or are they just basically a custom made cage...I dont like the idea of going out and hacking apart my bike, Id rather have some sort of bolt on part, or just take my fairings off instead of cutting into them.
