Seeing if anyone near the east end might have a:

-4.5" hole saw.
&
-5" hole saw.

Just something I could use for a few minutes?
I can throw you a few bucks for your time...

that's a damn big hole.

i have one that is a bit over 4" used for exhaust ducts to go through foundation beams, never needed one larger.

if you're trying to cut 5" hole, i'd recommend using a much smaller bit for a starter hole and use a plunge router if you have the space.

Can also just cut out the section and attach sandwich pieces on each side of the wood that you initially wanted to cut. each sandwich piece (4 total) would have a half circle cut out using a common jig saw.

Well, I have a 90 Civic hatchback, and I'm building a (crude) cargo cover for my work tools, and the holes will be for rear speakers (6.5" & 5 1/4)

The wood I'm using is is pretty much 45" x 15" x .75". Not really something I can cut into pieces :/

I bought a 3in and a 6in at Lowes.

I mean buy the tool because you never know when you might need it again and there is no way you will spend $75 on a hole saw. I spent $40 for a 6in. Then if you don't have the arbor bit you need that but the arbor bit can fit on many other diameter hole saws. Or if you think you have a steady hand find a jigsaw or find a router.

Plunge router is the way to go, then. They have guides for cutting circles. Also, MDF for the density with cheap pine supports for the length to give it some add'l strength. Most Home Depots have router rentals for cheap, otherwise you can hit up a Sunbelt rental place.
