Default Transmsion Shop - Silverado Transfer Case

I believe my transfer case is in need of a rebuild. I have done several checks to lead me to the transfer case, and the black fluid that came out of it tells me it needs to have the clutch packs replaced. I'd like to take it to someone who is experienced with them. I plan to go to AAMCO in chester, but I have no idea if they will do me right. Any help would be great.

It is a 2000 Silverado with AutoTrac and I already have the transfer case removed.

No lie, that's the hardest part of the job. Just crack it open and replace what needs to be replaced.

Looks like 7 hours of labor at the dealer. $90/hr = $540 plus fluid, tax, & shop supplies.

I was considering doing it myself, but I'm not 100% on what to look for and I'm not sure when I will have time to do it. I'd like to have it back on the road by memorial day. And if I can get a shop to do it I will have a warranty with it.

But I guess I will try to find a rebuild kit and do a little research.

I have a quote of 350 with a 12k mile/12 month warranty. I'll probably let him do it, because the rebuild kit is 160 shipped and the clutch pack is 90 shipped, and I still wouldn't have a warranty...

Does anyone have a good shop they can refer so I can get some other prices?
