Surplus Auction, Saturday Sept 23rd
Saturday * September 23, 2006 * 9:00 AM
Public auction at the state surplus property warehouse this Saturday. Lots of good stuff. Have to show Virginia residency (driver's license works fine) and there is no entry fee. I usually pick up some really good items every once in awhile from these.
Get there at the start for tools ($10/bag for airport seized pocketknives, $10/drills, varied for assorted tools), near the middle for furniture ($5 for filing cabinets), near the end for outdated computers (usually $10/ea), and at the end for the vehicles. Lots of stuff so it runs usually until 1 or 2 pm.
It's an auction. If you're unfamiliar with how it works, when the guy calls out a price, you raise your hand if you're willing to pay that amount. Simple enough. Not like the type where you scratch your nose and it's considered a bid and not like eBay where you can get "sniped."
Mapquest --> 1910 Darbytown Road, Richmond, VA 23231
More info...
I'll see if I can be there...

They don't have signs at these auctions, but I used to buy road signs through Seton and from scrap metal places (those that specialize in aluminum are best). Have a few that are mint quality!
You're from King and Queen county? Dang, I'll be rolling out there soon.
