Unless your running super pro or faster than 11.00 it's a quarter mile track. Super Pro and 11 and under are run on 1/8 mile.

Just to clarify for those wondering and haven't run at Richmond Dragway, braking distance is an issue at this location. MIR, Dinwiddie and other "big money" tracks offer a larger facility but at a higher cost than the local track here.

I think its great track as far as getting your moneys worth and I prefer to run my L there opposed to Vmp. But I prefer to run my bike at Vmp and will probly never run it at Richmond.

If you have a really fast car, Richmond is not the place to run. As stated previously the shut down lane is too short, and it ends in the woods at a bluff. The track is not as well maintained and has it's bumps and so on. BUT, if you are running 12's or slower it's the perfect track. It's cheap, you can get in a bunch of runs, and the tech inspection is very relaxed vs. VMS, who has to go by the IHRA rulebook. Richmond looks for a radiator overflow, a snell helmet, and that's about it. I have friends that go either direction with Richmond vs. VMS, some prefer Richmond, some can't hook and run too fast to run the 1/4 mile at Richmond.
