Why not get the windshield replaced? It's not collision, so it won't raise your rates. Deductible is often covered by promotions by the glass replacement company. Several cars here at the office were fixed in the parking lot by the mobile guys. Have also heard good things about Binswanger Glass at W. Broad St and Springfield Rd.
Make sure they scrape off and save your county sticker. You will need to send that into the county (and often a $1 replacement fee) to get a new one.

car isnt insured, dont think my insurance co. liking if a week later after we insure it we have them replace the glass
and i cant do it out of pocket bc i dont have the money, still jobless
