Is this illegal??
Is there a ticket for accelerating to fast? I always wanted to be lined up with a cop at a light and just take of without spining the tires and run it up to the speedlimit, granted i would have to take it easy going into second but other than that it would be iight. I heard that you can get a ticket for accelerating to fast but i wanted to see if anyone could give me a forsure answer.

Merf got pulled by a cop one night when he was revving the Poopra up the hill showing a friend how fast his car could go...just accelerating hard. The cop asked,"Were you speeding 'cause I couldn't get a lock on you." Merf says to the cop," No officer, I was driving the speed limit....I just got there fast."

I don't know about VA, but when I lived in FL, I got a ticket for doing just that.
