Anyone know who does carbon fiber work in Central?
Ive got a guy around Richmond area that has some shit he wants done up in CF, but hes not getting much response. He contacted DMH about this but they told him it would be too dangerous for the parts he wants done since they are so hard to get (I think his shit is fiberglass), so he asked them about laminating the parts in CF but hasnt heard anything back yet. Anyone else in the Central DMZ that might help?

Your friend is going to have a hard time finding someone that wants to pull a mold off a part that there is only one of in the US. Too much risk in breaking the original piece. Every part we make, I always tell the owner there is a risk of breaking the original piece. Normally it isn't a huge deal though with most the parts we have pulled molds from.

Yeah, he was told that. Now it seems he wants it LAMINATED only. That shouldnt be too hard, just covering it in CF, right?

I'll get him a contact I know that may be willing to pull the mold off it. I just don't want to risk breaking his one off rare part but I know a guy who has been doing it for 20+ years.

another option is to wrap it in 3M Dinoc, it looks really good, it definetely can't pull-off the real CF look but the cost difference is much much lower. PM if you need more details, I use quite a bit of this material.
