Default Anybody good with Domestic Vehicles?

My girlfriend drives a 98 Pontiac Grand Prix. It has a few problems and I'm hoping I can find somebody on here who is familiar with them to help me out on fixing it up.

The main problem is what I think is the crankshaft position sensor. The car turns off while driving and stays dead from anywhere to 10 minutes to a full hour. First the tach will die and soon afterwards she loses all power and comes to a coasting stop. Somedays she can drive it and be perfectly fine. I purchased what I think is the correct part, I just need help with installation.

Secondly is just replacing the blower motor and its relay. I took out the old stuff already. I'm just hoping thats the problem. A/C and heat wouldnt work at all and from what other forums were telling me it was a faultly blower motor relay thats a common problem.

Anyways, if you can help out with either one let me know. The dealership is trying to charge out the ass so I'd rather do it myself or find somebody to do it for me.

Have you had diagnostics? If the crank sensor gap is adjustable, they can be a bitch.
