Yeah, I'm not really impressed with the install. It could be much worse I'm sure, but still on the amateur side. At least he painted everything, so there's that. My fabrication barometer is probably a little f'd up though, and I never really excuse the use of angle section steel for anything important either.
Kinda cool overall though. I don't even want to know how much it weighs, and I'm not planning on reading that blog. So if anyone saw the weight figure in their reading, post it up. There's a reason that Tesla chose the Elise for their starting platform, and it was mostly down to the really low weight compared to pretty much everything else on the entire automotive market. I caught the alignment part of the blog though, and it sounds like he needs some suspension work to cope with the weight. He has stock everything apparently and has maxed out the acceptable camber from weight change alone. So yeah, needs more spring rate at the bare minimum.
Oh, and the dash. That dash...

In the video he said it weighs 150lbs more then stock. And the DC motor he is using is rated at max 130hp 225ftlbs, but he is running less amps/voltage through it and is getting about half of that.
