Round 1: #14 - Jay vs bmwtech13
Year/Make/Model:
2003/BMW/X5 4.6iS
Vehicle History/Summary:
It's the daily driver, grocery getter, auto-x behemoth, track car tower, road course capable SUV. Bought a year ago with 86k miles, now at 107k.
The 4.6L is essentially the Alpina version of the 4.4L V8. Compression is bumped to 10.5:1 and redline is raised to 7300. 5psi of boost is thrown on top, courtesy of Dinan. The X5 has been supercharged for 105k miles. Dinan tested the motor at 451bhp, I saw 325awhp through the auto trans to all four wheels via an AWD Mustang Dyno.
Expecting a bit more *umph* with the installation of a revised Vortech impeller blade this month, and maybe a little more boost.
Modifications

I purchased the Z3M in 2006 from Phoenix Racing, a race team in PA. After owning the car for about a year i wanted to give it some boost. I purchased a VF Engineering supercharger kit and installed it myself. I had the supercharger on the car for about a year, and decided i wanted to go turbo with it. I picked up the Technique Tuning Stg 2 kit and installed it over the winter. Now its just time for me to enjoy the car!

Happy to go out in the first round to another boosted BMW.
A truck shouldn't really be in a car contest anyhow.
Sick car man!

Re: Round 1: #14 - Jay vs bmwtech13
Thanks David. The Dinan engineer I typically speak to said that they've only sold 27 of the 4.6iS Supercharger kits... so, that might be why we haven't seen any others cruising around this way. However, there's probably even fewer turbo Z3M Coupes out there.
I'm sure that car must be a blast to drive!

I like both vehicles but I had to go to Jay.
If only the Mcoupe had better/different wheels; I love the 35R though.
