The painted surface of the ash tray slider door doesn't actually come in contact with anything when it slides, so I would assume it will hold up fine.

The hinge on the console door isn't painted, it's still chrome. One of them had one that was in pretty decent shape, so I just polished it and reused it.

Still haven't decided completely on a color yet. It's between a dark grey and gold. Hmmmmm
