The POS dsm build
UPDATE ON PAGE 2
UPDATE ON PAGE 4
UPDATE ON PAGE 5
UPDATE ON PAGE 6 (RUNNING AND DRIVING)
UPDATE ON PAGE 6 (FRONT BUMPER LITTLE SHOOT)
UPDATE ON PAGE 8 (FAILED CLUTCH)
UPDATE ON PAGE 8 (NEW MANIFOLD T3 SETUP)
UPDATE ON PAGE 8 (FAILED CLUTCH #2, ON THE DYNO)
UPDATE ON PAGE 9 (HOLSET HX40)
All right so i thought i would post a few pics of my build. I currently own a GST and i was planning to build a motor and buy a shep trans and put it into the gst but i decided instead to go to AWD so i picked up a talon tsi awd on here pretty cheap and ive decided to build that. The tsi has a TRE stage 2 trans and an ACT 2600 but did come complete with a hole in the block (I bought it knowing it threw a rod)
I am a senior in high school about to graduate, I am going to Old Dominion University to study motorsports technology, my DSM was my first car and ive realized that the fwd platform in a dsm is somewhat restricting, which is what lured me to awd. Ive paid for this project my self working at a local grocery store and now at a car dealership.
motor
slowboy racing stroker kit
manley crank
manley forged 9.0 1 pistons
manley h beam rods
ACL race bearings
All arp hardware
cosmetic head gasket
AEM adjustable timing gears
Gates Racing timing belt
Slowboy Racing G60 Turbo
Crower springs and retainers
OEM valves
DKS 272 cams
BSEK kit

Re: The POS dsm build
Good luck. Seems like you bought alot of nice parts and the chassis seems to be pretty nice.
I'm VERY limited on what DSMs do but why the internal-gate on the turbo? 60mm?
Keep up the work man. Seems like you got alot already but you have just the basics. Builds get expensive quick. I've been workin on one for about a year and a half now, and I'm nowhere near done. All I have is a turbo, clutch, and complete longblock from throttle body to oilpan. lol.
Just keep your head focused on what you truely want, and be prepared to ride it out.
Whos going to tune it?

Stock block 6bolt w/ good compression will make 500awhp+ on a good tune easily w/ the right supporting mods.
Good luck OP with the build got some nice parts there! Makes me miss my collection of them in the house haha.

The reason its an internal gate turbo, is its still a mitsu flange turbo, its not a t3/t4. I bought the turbo like that, to save a little cost, i would like to go to external gate later depending on how much money i can make haha
