Just taking a stab in the dark here, but my guess is that they still get a little bit of lift even in FWD so the wheelie bar would theoretically negate some of that lift and help front wheel traction. OP am I in the ballpark?

Yeah,that's the basic concept.It keeps the front tires loaded.
Norris has a good thing going.Cool to see some of the long time drag racing guys still in it.
Bought my first B series swap from him around '98,LOL.

X2, their passion for FWD drag racing goes unmatched. I remember back when Norris and Jeremy Lookofsky used to go at it, and still do.
