My Euro Trash/Life Thread
Alright fuckers, I've been in Germany for two years and haven't really posted much about it despite all of the cool car shit I've seen and done. So, I'll post all my stuff here. I'll start with taking delivery of my newest car.
***BACKGROUND*** I knew I wanted a car that was lighter and nimbler than my 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8, which performed well on the Nürburgring and Hockenheimring, but was really easy to reach its limits. So, I looked at the C63, '16 Audi TT-S, ZL1, P-Cars and a few others. I test drove the F80 and I was blown away by how neutral it felt in the corners and how easy it was to maneuver about. Such an incredible feeling and it is a pretty large car. The local BMW dealer here in Bavaria that sells to Americans here on the SOFA agreement offered me an incredibly generous trade-in for my SRT ($30,500 w/ 48k mi). So, I was absolutely sold :) I opted to take in-country Welt delivery, which was an additional $200. My saleswoman told me she would split the cost with me, which seemed nice. ***ORDERING*** I knew I wanted a car I would frequent at the local tracks, while serving as my daily for my 1 mile commute to work. The F80 also gave me the flexibility to bring the whole family if need be. I figured a well-optioned stripper would suffice. Here's the build: Yas Marina Blue (YMB) Black Extended Leather CF Roof 6MT M Adaptive Suspension 19" Black Wheels I was fitted with an F30 328i loaner with only 50 miles- brand new '15 MY. I had no real complaints besides the annoying engine ticking when cold-starting (direct injection). I would remain in this loaner from June through September. Some time in July, I pointed out a YMB F80 to my wife. She said it looked "just like" my previous '13 Grabber Blue 5.0... I told her they were actually different, but she vehemently protested my color choice. So, decided to change my color choice to Sakhir Orange (SO). Well, I was at another BMW dealer and saw SO in low-light. It really looked more burgundy than the bright orange-red I saw in pictures on BMW forums, so I wasn't completely sold on SO now. I mulled over Austin Yellow (AY) for a few days and decided the best bet would be leaving the choice to chance. I cut the M colors into little pieces, put them into a hat and let my oldest daughter pick the color- AY it is! So, I made the walk of shame to my CA and told her I wanted to change my color, AGAIN. She just laughed and I made the change just in time, as the frame and sub-frame components were just being completed. I had made in time by a matter of hours. It's pretty incredible how up-to-date the salespeople in Germany have the build information. ***DELIVERY*** Fast forwarding to 16 Sep, I already returned my loaner, wife was in vacation in Charleston. I came back home early for delivery... I got to the Bahnhof in Mittelfranken and it was empty at 0530 http://i59.tinypic.com/2qjdbly.jpg A few hours later I reached the Hauptbahnhof in München, which is a MASSIVE train station with a store for any possible gift or cuisine you may desire prior to em/debarking http://i60.tinypic.com/212xvt3.jpg I took the U2/U8 metro from Hauptbahnhof to Olympia Zentrum (I believe). I came out of the escalator and saw this sign http://i60.tinypic.com/2h30vb6.jpg I was directed by the info desk lady to take the elevator to the third floor, which brought me here http://i60.tinypic.com/23w66p2.jpg while waiting for an associate to take my plates, registration, etc. I met another member on here who was visiting from Chicago. We got to chat about cars, economics and work. Great guy. I also noticed a standard poodle, who was patiently waiting, which looked much like my mother's http://i57.tinypic.com/2pzzjms.jpg After I completed the admin portion, I was informed my delivery time was pushed to the left from 1140 to 1110, which did not give me much time to wander, which I obliged, having been to the Welt several times prior. I decided to go to the dining/lounge area and scarf down a few bratwursts and musli cups http://i60.tinypic.com/b5llyb.jpg http://i60.tinypic.com/15cfqxl.jpg The staff there was very polite and even charged my phone, which died from the excessive browsing on the 3.5 hour ride down (sleep, heh, yeah right). I decided to buy a few trinkets. I was given the obligatory 10 Euro credit and free BMW key chain w/ engraving. I ended up getting a second, for which the lady at the register didn't charge me I later realized. I took some GoPro footage of the Welt, too. Upon return to the staging area, I noticed someone else getting an F80 delivered http://i57.tinypic.com/4j1hdu.jpg It was finally 1110! I met a gent named Reinhold (Werner, I believe). I spoke German to him and he replied in English (as always in Germany). As we went down the escalator, there she was. I knew instantly fate did me right- the color was perfect! :) :wow:  http://i58.tinypic.com/ezpl6h.jpg I explained to Reinhold I previously owned an F30 335i, so he didn't waste our time explaining every feature. Instead, he showed me some of the advanced configurations of the nav and voice commands, which was very beneficial. My car was fitted with Contis (as opposed to Michelin PSS) Reinhold explained all '16 F8Xs will be fitted with Contis, as they allegedly perform better in the rain. I found this later to be false, they just ran out of PSS'... what a faggle. http://i60.tinypic.com/30cvacg.jpg http://i61.tinypic.com/iedp49.jpg The car came with a half tank of gas (that's a first for a new delivery) and 4 KM on the dash http://i59.tinypic.com/14tsrc6.jpg Reinhold gave me the peremptory HK Bluetooth Speaker, photos w/ thumb drive and eventually sent me on my way. I took a couple victory laps with the GoPro and went outside for a quick  http://i57.tinypic.com/15ako4.jpg http://i61.tinypic.com/wl4sxi.jpg I drove back home, taking backroads. I can't say enough about this car. It is loud, stiff, agile, yet comfortable. This car is a fucking dream to drive. The car is VERY loud at start-up. It's weird. After it cycles a bit, the valves close and it sounds somewhat normal. My boy's Porsche does that too. Weird. https://youtu.be/hT83s6l1qxM I just started an Instagram account for it. I'll be starting to update it more frequently. Check it out at AY_M3. |

Re: My Euro Trash/Life Thread
Two old school RS6s together at this car show in Nürnberg. The red one is from Switzerland and the second is from Liechtenstein. Both are extremely wealthy countries. So most likely these faggles drove three hours just to come to the show.People from neighboring countries love to come and drive fast as fuck because they all have speed limits.
http://i57.tinypic.com/nozk9g.jpg This is what Civics look like here. There are none that look like the ones in the states. I know some of you C-Ville faggles are about to circle jerk. http://i58.tinypic.com/e5p62s.jpg E92 http://i62.tinypic.com/2zjmebt.jpg These Peugeots are obviously not in America; this one is really cool looking IMO. http://i62.tinypic.com/w1cot2.jpg LOVE these. http://i60.tinypic.com/2lbbyo3.jpg VWs in Germany are like Hondas in America. http://i58.tinypic.com/vxnofc.jpg These are literally everywhere. A station wagon 5 series, A6 Wagon, E-Class Wagon, etc. are all extremely popular. http://i60.tinypic.com/nqer1e.jpg There are more. I just don't want to junk up this page with too many pictures per link to thread. |

Re: My Euro Trash/Life Thread
So a group of M car owners (MFlight) all got together and visited the KW headquarters in a small town called Fichtenberg. The town is celebrating its 1200th year anniversary (Holy fuck). Anyways, I had no idea KW was a Germany brand, and its headquarters was only 50 minutes from me. Pretty cool.
On the ride there early in the AM... https://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps45u0mnml.jpg Finally arrived & parked https://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l...psckxjkovs.jpg Headquarters https://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l...psuwb2qmyw.jpg This car owns every hill-climb track record in Europe. Its next stop is Pike's Peak. 600 WHP and around 2000 lbs https://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l...pstcrdre4h.jpg Making the coilover shell https://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l...psze1kkpdj.jpg Cool display. If you drive any kind of performance car, you most likely won't have this problem. https://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l...pszwprwwui.jpg Group shot; that's the CEO/owner holding the license plate https://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l...psy2t4xv6b.jpg Having seen all they do, I would definitely say their stuff is extremely legit. They even make very high-end OEM parts for some cars today (it is rumored they make one for the new M4 GTS- I saw one painted with the same weird orange-ish color in their BMW area; pretty sure that's it). There were lots of other cool stuff we saw, but lots of rooms didn't allow photography for some of their prototype designs. Here are some cool facts: -KW owns approximately 90% of the aftermarket suspension market, but only 10-15% of the OEM market -Bilstein is their biggest rival, but their numbers are almost swapped with above^^^ -They have unlimited beer (among other non-alc beverages) to drink during work hours -The offer micro suspension tuning for your car- about 3500 euro (or near 4000 USD) -They don't have a warehouse, so when you order one, they are making it just for you, every time |

Re: My Euro Trash/Life Thread
Just threw on an Akrapovic rear Diffuser. It took about ten minutes. Easy as pie. Spacers, JB4 and splitters to come on in the next two weeks. I have a big car show to go to in Monaco (Top Marques) that I want to get my car ready for. I'm pumped needless to say.

Re: My Euro Trash/Life Thread
One of my new coworkers just picked up this new S5. I'm like bruh, the new gen will be out next year. He got an insane discount, so I kind of understand. The interiors (especially the seats) of Audis are pretty incredible.

Re: My Euro Trash/Life Thread
This was back in October, but I got to run a few laps on the Nürburgring. While there, I got to see this unicorn. Anyone want to take a stab at what this is? I couldn't believe I got to see one in person. When it was parked between laps, EVERYONE was checking it out. The car straight up flew around the Ring.
https://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l...psydk1ryst.jpg You are guaranteed to be photographed and videoed every time you lap the Ring. You can see me at the 5:15 mark here: |

Re: My Euro Trash/Life Thread
So, sold my M3. Picked up a '15 ZL1 and shipping it here. Wasn't planning on getting a ZL1, but it's the best fast track/autobahn car for the $ and I need something to hold me over under $50k. The M3 was great, but needed something a little more track focused. It isn't quite as track and autobahn-ruggedized as it needs to be for me (I track a lot, and it's dirt cheap here in Germany). Should be here around mid-August. I'll probably pick up the new TT-RS sometime in mid-June which is what I want to end up with before I head back to the states- most likely Leavenworth. Here she is. '15 with 8k miles. I got it OTD for $44k. Not bad IMHO. It will sell for much more over here.

So, I like to cruise at about 130-140mph when I'm going somewhere. I did this for hundreds of hours in my SRT8 with zero issues. In the M3, 6th gear is rounding 6000 RPMs. The engine simply works too hard at high speeds in manual. DCT would have remedied this. Conversely, my brakes on the SRT8 juttered non-stop. I tried everything. It was faint, but still there. So, I sell the SRT8 after 18 months of loving ownership and guess what- my brand new M3's brakes do the EXACT SAME THING! Furthermore, they make a VERY loud squeal when tracking. Like, the second I get on the 'Ring, it squeals non-stop. As soon as I'm off the track, it never happens. Then, there's some design flaw where rocks always get stuck between the rotors and metal brake shield and makes terrible noises and is sometimes a PITA to remove. Nearly everyone in the forums has this issue. So, I decided I wanted to get something with really good brakes, steerable, but at the end of the day is a track-centered car that won't rev high on the autobahn. 6.2 blown-liters kind of solves that. I imagine when the ZL1 gets here I'll spend the next 6-8 weekends at the N-Ring and H-Ring to make up for lost time. So psyched for the ZL1. SUCH a monster! |
Re: My Euro Trash/Life Thread
I wish I could get one of those big fucking 6.0L man

Re: My Euro Trash/Life Thread
I'm just here lookin for a C6 Z06. That Camaro is gonna be a beast, sir

Re: My Euro Trash/Life Thread
What about when you leave Germany though? Back to regular speeds on the highway seeing a Camaro every 5 seconds.
I get that you are choosing it for the right reasons right now, just curious as to future plans. You can bring me back a C5 RS6 Avant if you like? |

Re: My Euro Trash/Life Thread
I get the feeling the madtyte "spend your deployment money at japanese classics and get a sick skyline, bruh" trend isn't gonna last much longer. Or at least, the cars will no longer be rare or forbidden fruit and therefore won't be worth the ridiculous prices people are getting for them right now. Pretty sure they're damn near as common as a running 240 in the 757 already, and its only gonna get worse.

Re: My Euro Trash/Life Thread
It was a joke, I would bring back nothing but cash money
