My 2003 Evolution - first post since 2010
In November I purchased this evo 8. I have been to hell and back with this car, but I Love this thing.
One month after purchase I busted a piston 2 days after a safe dyno tune. Then I visited harbor freight and picked up a hoist and the build started. There were a few demons in this engine. Warped flywheel, honed by hand cylinder wall that wasn't done right, leaking head gasket in the cylinder that popped.
So today I was out and decided to snap some pictures with my point and shoot camera.
Mods:
Manley Pistons and Rods - 9.5:1 compression
Forged Crank
HKS 272 cams
Crower Valve springs
Ported head, intake, exhaust
ebay turbo back exhaust
Full ported turboxs o2 housing (JMF O2 dump to be installed)
1000cc injectors
FP red turbo/FP wastegate - 24lbs
Go Fast Bits BOV
Full turbo piping by buschur racing
stock intercooler (buschur inter cooler to be installed)
Exedy twin disk clutch
All 3 torque solutions motors mount
Egr delete
Oil cooler delete
20-50 brad Penn oil
Recent items not pictured
Spoolin up cop
Suspension:
GT Worx springs on stock struts
20mm wheel spacers front and back
The only other mods I want is rexspeed carbon fiber parts and get rid of the purple tint. THE PURPLE TINT was on the car when I bought it. Just imagine it with dark black tint as it will be replaced next week. MKAY
Dyno numbers 396hp/378tq on pump and safe tune, if i get a bigger intercooler and more agressive tune. 450+ all day long

I want to hate but I won't since at least there isn't a shocker sticker on it.
Nice Evo. Your mods are way overkill for 400 wheel, so upgrade the intercooler stat and turn the boost up.

No stickers except on the front bumper. The tuning sticker was removed today off the rear window.

Started off at 3268 with half tank of gas and all fluids Those 3109 numbers lie.
Most evo owners can get only to around 3k lbs before you lose what comfort is left. Some of the fastest evos are around 2800 and they are gutted
