Melvin stops by with his Supra
A few weeks ago Melvin dropped by for a chassis undercoating and exterior detail to seal up his newly purchased 08 King ranch diesel dually. After inspection of the job at pick up he decided to leave his 94 Premier Edition TT Supra with us for a few weeks to bring her back to life. He told us to take our time and that he was in no rush to pick it up. The car was covered in paint overspray courtesy of the painters in a parking garage at town center, and heavily swirled and scratched from a wash effort to remove the paint. His CCW rims were highly neglected from their previous owner and the engine bay was in desperate need of a steam cleaning (not to be confused with a pressure washing). We snapped a few before photos and tucked the car away in the shop as it is not a high priority to leave. Being that we have the vehicle for a good amount of time we will be documenting as much of the detail process as possible to share with members here on VaDriven…be sure to check back routinely for updates.
Paint overspray
After 1st round of compounding…2nd round will removed the rest
Bird droppings
Etching wet sanded away
Wet sand polished out
Wax build up
More overspray
Got scratches
Paint blobs
RIDS/Swirls and a scratch in the middle
Level paint…like a mirror
Tail light in need of polishing
Neglect from previous owner…makes for a great second hand buy though!
All polished up
Barrels were done as well
All clayed…paint overspray gone
Joe taping her up for compound and polishing
Muffler in need of polishing
Not perfect but much better then it was
Brake ducts deteriorated
Section of pass. door after compounding before polishing
Rear wheel wells in need of undercoating
3M undercoating applied
More pics to come as we continue to revive this gem...more compounding, engine steaming, and an interior spruce up to finish her off
