Re: meaty tires
Fine by me. Another reason I opted for 18" on my car instead of 19". I believe there is such a thing as an attractive tire as well.

Re: meaty tires
Yeah, meaty tires aren't really going to be a new "trend". Years ago Honda guys started switching from 17s and bigger to 15s and 16s with bigger tires (I know people have been rocking big tires forever, just saying). I like big tires depending on the application. I'd love to have a black S2000 with 16" SW388s and big ass tires.

Re: meaty tires
Eh not exactly. You always want a stiff sidewall so the tire doesn't roll over and decrease your contact patch. And the bigger the sidewall the less stiff it will be. But you also dont want such a small sidewall that would cause the wheel to be damaged if you hit something in the road/track.

Re: meaty tires
50 series tire with a stiff sidewall?

Re: meaty tires
I won't say you can rely on whether or not it's a 50 series sidewall b/c that all depends on width of the tire. A 285/35/18 still has a pretty big sidewall even though it's a 35 series. I think the most common though is 40 series for most 17" wheels and 35 series for most 18" wheels.
