I guess I wish they didn't extend THAT low. The distance they flare out is on point.
edit: Could always keep them in the box and assess the short term paint damage (if any) a few thousand miles from now.
edit 2: Maybe I'm just so used to seeing it one way, that this is totally a different look to me, but to others, there's not much of a perceived difference.

I don't like it as much but it wouldn't bother me enough to spend 5-700 bucks on some 3M shit. Sometimes Function > Form, lol.

That's pretty much my gut feeling Shawn. Unsure on cost for custom 3M where needed + installation. I'm guessing between $500-$700. 10x the cost of the mudflaps. Meh.
edit: Tischer BMW is letting me test fit to decide on keeping or returning.... I think that's pretty alright of them.

also: two big thumbs up to Tischer BMW. I order all my OEM parts through them. They have the best prices on the net, they ship quickly and their customer service is on point.

Slam it. Problem solved.
Lol,
Honestly I would keep the mud flaps. That little feature gone, isn't worth the paint.

i say keep the mud flaps, it looks pretty good. just lift it lol and then the mud flaps will look even better and throw some BFG a/t's on it. it would look pretty baller and you never see lifted X5's especially none with BFG's lol. but seriously the mud flaps look pretty good and you could always shave them down. i know i regret taking the mud flaps off my truck, would have saved me a lot of rock chips.
