980179 is model year 1998 and 0179 is the car number. No sarcasm intended, I knew there weren't a million of these things out there so I asked him if there was a specific number assigned to each car. 980179 is what he told me. From what I understand there were only 750-800 Championship white Type R's made in 98, Kinda like the STi Limited.
