Free Truck box project
I have a newer Tacoma with the shorty bed on it and have needed a toolbox for awhile, but a standard over the rail box wouldnt have looked right on the truck considering how short the bed is, so i improvised and built one to my specs using a box a buddy was gonna toss. Thought I'd Share
Started with a fullsize pickup truck box
Cut the box down for our bed
Inverted cut-off ends and welded in place
Cut the excess off off material welded in place
Capped the ends with scrap material
Cut the lid down to match
Reloacted the lid shocks
Finished product from the side of the truck
And from behind
Total expense- $0.00
Total time involved- 5 hours
