DIY-Front splitter by FAST!
For a while now I have been thinking about making a legit splitter for my car instead of buying the shitty apr one that just attaches to the bottom of the bumper and has no framing so I hit up my friend (wasabipea) and he got to work! YES I know its big but thats what I wanted. Standard splitters are 5 inches so thats what we did
Started off with taking the bumper off and tracing the shape of the lip on a big sheet of cardboard and cutting it out. We made the trace 5 inches bigger in the front for the lip of the splitter.
Next we mocked up the splitter on the car to see how it looks.
Very happy with how it looked so we went ahead and cut out the splitters shape on "alumalite" which basically is some sort of thick foam core with aluminum in the center which will work out great.
(its black but has some plastic on it that will be taken off when its put on)
next we started mocking up a frame for the splitter to make it more stable.
Finished up without the apr rods
added rods
Thanks for the pic fizzy

Providing downforce and not falling off haha. The apr splitter is pretty weak, this one goes back like 6 more inches. The stuff is called alumalite I think, im sure derek will chime in. Hes the one who ordered it.
edit for flite: this one was a lot cheaper too

You sited it's purpose as functional. The APR lip doesn't frame-mount, this does. Does this create any downforce? Were you getting front end lift at speed? I've got the APR lip on mine and don't notice anything bad. Do you track your car?

I havent noticed any lift yet, Its been at driftwater before and im planning on taking it back for the next event. We were kinda worried about the lift issue so I put a rear diffuser on it as well to hopefully make the rear not as tail happy. and im going to be ordering the apr wing soon hopefully which should tie it all together.
