Detailing the classic mini
Now that i finally got my classic back(just moved from florida to central california) its time to clean up a couple months of grime and pollution off the paint..started with the roof as its the largest surface area on the car...
this is months of surface crap in the paint...
after some extensive use of a clay bar...getting there...
a before and after...left side is clay barred and waxed using the Porter Cable buffer using Prima Swirl
after the clay bar you can see the swirls and scratches
much better
and the finished product...needs a couple more coats of wax before moving on to the rest of body

Re: Detailing the classic mini
Here is an update...as ive been laying down coats of wax on the roof ive turned to the front end clay barring it and getting it prepped...the roof is the biggest pain but usually when thats done the rest goes quick...
laying down more coats of wax...
taping off the front end...paint is not bad but you can see its kinda fuzzy looking
sprayed down with quick detailer
what came off the paint after the first pass

Re: Detailing the classic mini
You should wet sand it.swirl remover will work with the right pad if you have a variable speed buffer. It will only take you 5 minutes to the entire car .

WTF are you talking about? You wet sand it to get the paint even and then buff it to get rid of the scratches to have that wet look shine without distortion of uneven paint or orange peel. I said it should take 15 min to do because it is a MINI (small car). That's called sarcasm ....dumb fuck. Go lick a window.

Uhh he wants to be precise and careful with the paint, even with a variable speed buffer. Hence, why he is doing it by hand and not with a buffer isn't as precise as doing it by hand.
