Dad got a little bit done. He got the brake pedal all set up and managed to get the steering column in the center of the dash like its supposed to be.

That's a purdy weld.

Damn, I didn't mention it did I. Were you the one that sold me the t-bolt clamps?

Thank you sir.

So my dad has hit a little snag with what to do with the dash. He either wants to cut the dash out and move it forward to line up with the steering column bracket and fill in with metal or just cut it completely out and run a dash like a race car. What do you guy's think?

On a side note, give us about 2-3 weeks and the small block will be shoe horned in this small ass car.

Dale- just cut a oval in the dash and then make a sheet metal cluster that fits inside that with whatever gauges you like. That way you can center it on the steering column.

OR

Fill in the dash in front of the wheel and run them all in the middle with a simple square cut out and sheet metal cluster.

Well dad got the dash done the way he wanted it. Looks better IMO.

This is the gauge setup he is thinking about running with.

I've been in cars where the digital dash had some glare issues, but if its inset enough.... then it should be ok
I like the normal Autometer full setup
