Brian Nguyen's 170cc Big Bore Ruckus Build

Hello everyone. I don't post here often but I am always checking whats new on the forums. My name is Brian Nguyen and I would like to share my GY6 Ruckus Build with you all. You may remember me from my E46 M3 build.

For as long as I can remember I have always wanted a Ruckus. Even while still building my E46 M3 I thought about dropping everything and start working on a epic Ruck build.

Through the years I came to aquiring a 2004 Ruckus with 500miles on it. I quickly picked it up for $900 and had big plans for it. First I thought I was just going to build a awsome GET build which I did and put a lot of money into; but after the exhausting hill climbs in my area and riding a friend's 150cc GY6 I was convinced I had to go bigger.

Here are some pictures of my GET build.

Here's my Ruckus now. With a 170 Big Bore GY6 build by Dorbyworks. The custom airbrush paintjob was done by John Kokenda.

More mods to come are Poon's oil cooler, Velocity stack, Digital Tachometer, and maybe... possibly.... turbo.

*I am aware the the rear tire is mounted backwards, I had to flip the face of the wheel so that the offsets would meet the new GY6 requirements. If anyone can source me a place that can remount my tire that would be lovely*

You have really put a lot awesome work into this Ruck- I have a Honda Metro so I can respect the research and difficulty sourcing parts.

BUT, in the end I never understand this because it's a $7-10k moped.

Not that difficult to source parts for these. Getting the people who produce them to actually SHIP them is another thing though... :)

What do use one of those for other than apparently riding around car meets? Serious question.

Do they make girls wet or?

Fixed, for the Fobangah version

They're addicting, and fun as fuck to ride. Especially when you do the GY6/2stroke/anything other than 50cc swaps. You wouldn't expect something like that to go down the road doing almost 70
