1995 Audi UrS6 build

About 4 years ago I bought this bad boy from this very forum and started a build, however I had to leave the area for a few years so put it on ice. I'm now back and am at it again, here is what I have done so far....

How the engine bay looked when I got it

I replaced the turbo which was stock, with a GT2871R and everything else that came with the kit (new tune, injectors, fuel pump, springs and hoses/lines). I installed a new CAI which takes it away from the turbo and all that heat.

I did a few cosmetic things also, and changed all the fluids after taking it out of storage

I am currently redoing the strut mounts, and will continue to fix little things. My next big purchase is a FMIC to replace the SMIC.

Other mods the car has are, blistien shocks and springs, drilled rotors, aftermarket head unit and speakers, 2.5" to 3" custom turbo back exhaust (it's way too loud and will be replaced eventually), B5 S4 wheels (I think), stage 2 south end clutch, forge DV/BOV and clear corners.

Here is how she looks

Tidy build! Given my first car was an '88 Audi 90, always have a soft spot for these Audi's. That motor in an Audi 90 Quattro or Coupe...mmmmm.

What kinda power output on this setup?

I love these Audis. Wish my V8 looked this good. Major props!

Re: 1995 Audi UrS6 build

Probably looking at 300+ HP to the wheels. Once I get a FMIC and a Hi flow intake manifold I think it will be around 350.

Bad news is today the altenator died on me. Having it rebuilt and sticking it back in tomorrow. Buying a daily in the mean time.

Thanks Saavedro88!!

Had the rubber in the strut mount replaced and an alignment done, she was hurting.

Got a popping sound when I turn, so she still needs some work, any Audi guys wanna help me diagnose? I get a lot of help at Quattroworld, but all the suspension stuff is way over my head.

Good luck with your build. It is nice seeing something different for a change!

Thanks, it's going slowly now as I keep spending money on my daily, next up, rebuilt steering rack.

Re: 1995 Audi UrS6 build

So I have attempted to sell this, and during that time I got some new tools and a little time, so have gone back to making her great. During the last few months I have had the timing belt done and now have the hood off. I am sanding it down, going to fill in the chips and then primer it. Once it is primered I will plasti dip it while I save up for a half decent paint job. Then I will move onto the roof and the trunk!

Also noticed that all of my spark plugs are fouled, and am guessing it is because of the coil packs on top, they are crap. Going to buy some new ones and get them on. Looks like I might keep her and put in some work to get her great.

I was in the process of selling mine till I realized I will never get back what I put in, so I thought "fuck it" and am keeping it.

Definitely a good call to keep, these only seem to go up in value or I'd have owned one already. First car was an Audi 90...would love to do a Quattro turbo build. Just cool quirky looking sedans:

I have always liked these, they are a nice sane drive and very few suprises.

Re: 1995 Audi UrS6 build

So one of the mounting tabs on the steering rack broke off in transit. This weekend I replaced the plug and plug boot, finished sanding down the hood, primered it, then put a couple coats of plasti dip on there so it doesn't look like a bag of dicks. I also removed the trim under the head light, sanded that down to remove the rock chips and dipped them also.

Oil was getting to the plugs so I have a seal kit coming tomorrow, will get that installed next along with de greasing the inside of the engine bay, to help me find where all the leaks are coming from.

This is one of my favorite Audi's out there to date. Was this up for sale not to long ago?

Re: 1995 Audi UrS6 build

It was but nobody wanted her, their loss my gain, I'm back to restoring her.

Just did the Gaskets on the valve cover as oil was getting to my plugs.

Re: 1995 Audi UrS6 build

Update time! I have been a busy little bee.

Installed a new fuel filter, serpentine belt, changed a plastic T piece that is known to crumble and fail, and today added a more powerful coil kit. This eliminated the stuttering issue I was having. Pretty much all the 200k service is now complete.

http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ps2ob6vba6.jpg

I still have a small leak from the PS pump I need to work on, and I bought new tie rod ends as I think one of mine is popping in and out. Will get them on next.

Re: 1995 Audi UrS6 build

Was having a horrible clunk when I changed gear, so assumed it was the mounts. Changed out the motor mounts but here is how the old ones look.....

http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...psxyciic7r.jpg

So guess is its not them. Gonna grab some trans mounts and a new snub mount.

It's also not starting, looks like the cam sensor or something is out. New one on the way then she will be back on the road. Picking up a 04 GMT Negaro blue avant on saturday. Hopefully it's one of the good ones.

Snub mount and trans mounts arrived. Putting them in this weekend along with a new G40 cam sensor.

Re: 1995 Audi UrS6 build

Cam sensor installed, she is running again. Gonna get to the mounts later this week.
