looks like you're off to a good start. if you plan on keeping that cage in there, i suggest adding more padding to the sides

Cage is welded in so it will be staying. You talking about just wrapping the cage with padding?

All the research I did said that the DC ebrake cables would not work. They infact do work I just had to switch out the mounting brackets from the old cables with the DC ones.

Finally got around to pulling the valve cover and plugs today to see wtf is going on with this thing. Inside of the head looks great, peep down #1 cylinder and look at the piston head, covered in oil. Thanks guy. Hope I fucking see you again.

That is some really deep scarring. How ddep is the ridge at the top of the cylinder where the piston is at the top of its rotation?

Skimmed through and didnt see anything mentioned about the engine. Is this the motor that came in the vehicle?

Yes it came in the car, was claimed to be rebuilt. Haven't measured it yet, don't care to at the moment. Putting together my other LS for now. This will probably be the block I send to GE to be sleeved. Until then, this:
