Yay rep lol, and yeah a buddy of mine a few years ago had his hood fly up on him, I think it was a cowl hood too if I remember correctly. It busted the windshield and put two lovely ridges in his roof. Nice beauty marks haha. I drove without hood pins one day by accident and it was already lifting at about 40 mph. Scary shit.

Must have been a junk hood. Mine never even acted like it was gonna open. Don't slam the shit out of it and crack where the latch mounts to. I've seen plenty of fiberglass hoods without hood pins.

Oh and I like my Pony wheels, but I definitely gotta get something nicer on there. I really like the Saleen SC wheels. I've been debating on the 17x9 or 17x10 for the back...opinions?

Find a stock hood somewhere and have it painted along with your rear bumper, put the amber corners back in and save the rest for gas money or spare T5s.

They are all junk. Especially the ones made in the last 5-10 years (cars get cheap, young kids buy cars, young kids don't want to pay for quality). Most don't act like they're going to open until you have to cut out the cowl, beat the roof back into shape and replace the windshield. I've seen plenty too, mostly on slow shit, and even some of those come up.

Those represent two of the ones i've seen come up. One on my roommate's fox and the other on his ex wife's SN95. Apparently some of their designs just have threaded inserts molded into the fiberglass rather than something (like a wider backing plate with all of the hardware attached) more substantial being molded in.

To each his own. I'd never have an aftermarket fiberglass hood on my stuff without pins. I can't imagine losing the hood at 50, much less 145-150.

Yeah I guess it's decent quality, but I kinda would just prefer a normal cowl hood, not quite my style.

Haha rear bumper is okay on paint, it's the trim that's shit. I was thinking about just replacing all the trim going around the bottom of the car. Or painting it. I don't like the amber corners much, just prefer the clear even if it's not considered tasteful anymore. I get about 12 MPG lol oh well. And yeah it's already acting funny. I have a feeling I'll be dropping a new trans in by next summer.

That trim doesn't come off of the front and back bumpers like you think it does.
