1972 Porsche 911, Resto-mod
Looks even better in person, Grant and I are going to try and talk the porsche owner into putting the car into springfest to showcase the work, if he hasn't sold it by then for some astronomical amount of money that is. Apparantly he's just like any other car guy, puts heart and soul into a project, enjoys it for a few weeks then sells it.
Seriously, Thank you everyone who has said nice things and complimented Ricks hard work.
This thread has generated a lot of interest in the work, which makes us both happy.
Got a 2 part update. First thing, owner of the porsche is going full retard on this thing, as you will continue to see...

Just a small overview of some parts he has had de-greased, blasted, cleaned, and re-coated to better than factory specs.... If it wasnt salvageable, it was purchased, and treated. My man is seriously doing a nut+bolt FULL BLOW RESTORATION.

Period correct decals. They have a protective coating over them making them appear green.

Rear shot. This silver is like a women. So gorgeous, but tricky and decietful. The car reflects some crazy ass colors and shifts like its bi-polar.

Placed first at the local monster truck show.....

Over view. The wheels look amazing against this color. Cant wait to see the final "stance" once the ride height is properly adjusted and motor is in.
The interior is just as crazy as the exterior, gonna be bonkers once its all together. Will post as progress is made.
Since Ive been slacking on posting about the lotus front end, quick update.

After we stripped the "protective coating" that was not fun removing, we de-greased the residue/cum stains/ old wax etc

whilst not nearly as bad as the original front end, Rick went over it. Whomever attempted to fix it was more than likely high on pcp, as it was a hack job repair.

Body work done, has been prepped, sprayed off, wiped down again, and now in the booth ready to seal the repaired areas.

Primer getting sprayed

*edit* sealer has now been applied.

Sealer has been sprayed, properly cured, and now the first coats of base.

The car it belongs too. Guy is a frequent visitor of VIR, awesome dude.
Hopefully here soon I can keep you guys entertained with more updates. Until then, thanks for following this build!

overview
So in the time I took these few pictures, we pulled the shifter out, the shift linkage, e-brake, e-brake linkage, replaced the super worn out bushings. Took a shop-vac to the shift tunnel and removed the 30+ years of bullshit. We ended up replacing the factory bushings for all the moving parts. Didnt take pictures as it is boring as hell.
Factory ordered 911E badges in the OE packaging.

The gasket that surrounds the hood badge. Sealed in it's factory ordered packaging.

Although you cant read it, just like the other two, factory sealed PORSCHE decal in gold. This is money. My man has such $$$$ parts ready to finish this project off it's so nuts
Dude loves his projects, fenders, deck lid, bumpers all sitting inside taking up his living room and his awesome bachelor bar area.
Deck lid looks great with new lettering.
