I'm thinking about tinting my windshield. I don't want to black it out, just a moderate tint to cut down on the summer heat, but I still want to be able to have decent vision at night. I already have all my other windows blacked out and haven't been bothered by the cops. I think its illegal here to tint the windshield, has anybody done it? Had any problems with the police?

you can do it if you get an optometrist to sign the dvm form...my buddy is able to get 70% tint on the front windshield and 35% all around.

there is a form on the dmv website or you can pick one up at the dmv...go see an/your optometrist and get evaluated for...Dont go in there saying "Fill this form so I can get tint on my car." If you pass or they sign it...it will legally allow you to get darker tint and tint on the front windshield. And it will come up when officers run your plates that you have an exemption...for tint

Thats awesome....I just found the form on the DMV, I've never heard of that before. I think I'll be able to get it, I just had laser eye surgery last summer, and my eyes are really sensitive.

I dont care about the legality of it all.

Untill I replaced my windshield due to a crack, I had 50% on the windshield and 20% all thw way around.

I had NO lose in night visiblity but there was a noticable drop in interior temps. No Problems with the Cops. I have Friends with 35% ( I DO NOT Recommend going darker that 50% for Visiblity reasons)
