For me it's been 2 biggies now.

First, was years ago when I had my mustang Cobra. The AC stopped working and the "stealership" said I needed a new compressor to the tune of over $700 installed. I got on stangnet, did some research, and found a bad fuse. I was 18 at the time so it was a big deal.

Just now the fan control in my truck started only working on the max setting. Dealer said new HVAC controls over $300 installed. Coloradofans.com said it was the plug going to the fan motor getting loose... they were right. Plug was loose, all fixed for free.

My Z06 never went to the dealer if it wasn't warranty work so no stories there.

So when did a little research save you some coin.

From this forum:

Chad saved me a few thousand dollars on my pool table.
Chris saved me a few hundred by doing some electrical work in my new house.
Vinny saved me a few bucks on an ADT security system.

Elambz saved me a few hundred bucks by not using hookers and blowing me whenever needed.

Wow, had to take a look after seeing your post. That's funny as shit.

Back on topic... Only way I've really saved money was by figuring out how to install my own parts and/or researching parts I wanted to order and figuring out if they will all work together
