what is camber wear ?
i hear everyone talking about it and to tell the truth I have no clue what it is ?
the only idea i have is the sides of the tire being at an angle, like drifting with regular tires and wearing down the sides, am I even semi close to what it is ?

Re: what is camber wear ?
its uneven tire wear due to your camber(essentially the angle your tire "leans" to). If there is too much camber(angle) your tires wear unevenly. Typically with the wear you are talking about, it is from understeering and scrubbing the tires.

Re: what is camber wear ?
Camber wear is caused when the angle of the tires (camber) is such that only one side of the tire makes good contact with the road. Thus only 1 side wears out.
If you're looking from the front:
| | | | = 0 camber
/ / \ \ = Negative camber. Since the tires are tilting inward, the inner edge will wear much faster.

Re: what is camber wear ?
with just a little camber, we're talking about 1 degree, you can eat through tires in about 5 days, just normally driving around. your car will handle like a fucking dream, hug corners, everything, but your just killing your tires.
check out www.ingallseng.com , there is also another camber company that is just as good, I think its called specialty products, or something like that.
I'll edit when I find it.

Re: what is camber wear ?
If your tires are wearing real bad look at your toe as well since that will wear a tire quicker than camber. Best way I can think of explaining toe is
Imagine your hovering over a car and looking down at it.
Zero toe you four wheels will look like
l l
l l
Toe in they will look like
/ \
/ \
Toe out
\ /
\ /
If you think one degree camber will eats tires in five days then toe will do it in one.

Um, My car had -1.7 degrees of camber on both front wheels. I've done burnouts, launches, backroad adventures, track events, more backroad adventures. My toe is with-in specs of my car. I ran like that for about 6 months on Yokohama AVS ES 100s. They are still perfectly worn all the way across.
