ok dont flame me, im not a vdub guy, but, can you put regular wheel studs on a vw, where there is a lug nut and not the lug bolt screwing into the rotor?

You can get conversion studs that replace the wheel bolts. They screw into the hub just like the wheel bolt (and have threadlocker on them) and then a regular lug nut gets threaded on the stud. H&R and some other companies make them.

Standard wheel studs press in from the backside of the hub, so there isn't any way to convert to a standard studs without replacing the entire hub to a different type. But, you don't need to do that because the conversion studs work perfectly fine.

but be carefull when tightening the studs. the allen key opening at the top gets stripped very easily. and i'd throw some lock tight on there as well, when i converted my car to studs i ran them for a couple months, took the wheels off and the a few of the studs were loose. and i torqued them down to proper H&R specs.

The better way to tighten them is with two nuts tightened against each other, then you don't have to worry about stripping the ends out.
