V6 Rumble?
I just bought a 2000 Ford Ranger with the 3.0 V6. This is my first truck and my first V6. At idle it tends to shake a bit- if I had a styrofoam cup in the holder and it was full it would most likely spill.
I have had the motor mounts and belts checked. I am told it's simply the V6 rumble....it should vibrate like that. It's not horrible, just gets annoying when sitting still. And yes, it does do it in every gear, including neutral.
Any thoughts?

Re: V6 Rumble?
Sounds like a timing/tuning problem, or a balance issue, or a misfiring/dead cylinder. Or mounts that have become really hard with age, but that's doubtful for a 2000 model. Stock 3L V6s are usually really smooth, especially at idle, which is one of the reasons they're so popular. Any engine mods, like lumpy cams or anything like that? May be time for a tune up..
Yay Ford!
