Re: Underground spots in JAX, FL.
I know back when I lived in Jax for a few months, Best Buy in Orange Park was the spot. Had a TON of nice ass cars out there, most with drag radials on etc etc.
Also check out Pecan Park dragway when it opens up, its only 1/8th mile but youll be able to meet a ton of people that way.

The scene has died off a lot there over the past few years as the cops have become increasingly stringent.
There is a scene to be found, you just have to know where to start. Best bet is get in the know with the few reputable shops that are there..
Usually Friday/Saturday nights everyone hangs out behind the Hooters on Wells Rd., down the street from Orange Park Mall, or out at the strip mall at the corner of Atlantic Ave. and St. John's Bluff. Hooters is usually reserved for the V-8 crowd and the exceptionally fast imports. There are some very serious heavy hitters and they are usually more than willing to race, but usually only under perfect conditions. A better majority of the Domestic guys are in mid~low 9 second/10second street tire cars. There is also a good handful of low 10 second or faster street tire imports out there as well.
Last I recall, Pecan Park was doing late night drags on Friday and Saturdays, to keep the racers off the streets.. It's 1/8th mile, but a lot of scores have been settled there.. Gainesville Raceway opens in late winter and they have a pretty frequent test n tune night there as well. $10 to race on Wednesday nights. $15 on Friday nights, last I was there..
Good luck and have fun down there. Jax is a great place to be. Just stay out of Clay County if you plan on racing.
