Quick Question: If the waste-gate actuating arm can be adjusted to determine when the waste-gate is open thus determining the amount of boost created, what is the point of a boost controller. Is it simply to quickly adjust the amount of boost or is it to add even more boost when you have maxed out the length of the waste-gate actuating arm?

My guess: Used to adjust the amount on the fly for racing or normal driving.

Not an extremely important question, just bugging me.

A boost controller doesnt add any more boost than what the turbo already can produce, but it does do exactly what it states above, which is controlling the amount of air pressure sent to the wastegate. The higher the boost setting on the controller, the longer the time needed for the wastegate to be triggered to vent the turbo, and the greater volume of air that is sent into the engine for combustion until it is vented out into the exhaust. Without a boost controller, the system falls back to the factory spring setting on the wastegate to keep the turbo from pushing more air into the engine than needed. With a boost controller and a change in the spring, more boost is permitted into the engine until the wastegate is triggered to open and release the rest of the air into the exhaust.

To understand how a boost controller works, you have to understand turbos and wastegates.
