True cost of supercar ownership
I was reading this month's EVO and they had a story about the true costs of supercars. I thought a few of you would find some of these numbers interesting. pictured below is a chart from the mag but I listed some numbers from the article anyhow. enjoy!
Konigsegg CCR
launch price: 407,000 GBP
anually service cost: 6,000 GBP
issues: things are known to go wrong and prices skyrocket
Ferrari Enzo
launch price: 450,000 GBP (2002)
Annual service cost: 3600 GBP (Ferrari suggests u get it checked every 6 months but most owners only do once a year)
issues: clutch goes out about every 6,000 miles and it costs 4,500 GBP to replace it
Mercedes SLR
launch price: 313,465 GBP (2003)
repair costs: done at 10k mile intervals, 2,100 GBP for the first, 3,700 gbp for the 2nd, and 6,500 GBP for the 'big' one every 4 years
Zonda
launch price (S) 320,000 GBP (F) 695,000 GBP
repair costs: Pagani wants the zonda to be checked every 2 years or 6k miles, whichever is first. minor service is 1,800 GBP , a major one 2,520 GBP
Porsche Carrera CGT
launch price: 330,000 GBP
service cost: needs it once a year with interim service costing 1,200 GBP and the main one 2,784 GBP.
The big service is every 4 years when the engine gets removed so the top end can be stripped and the valve clearances reset. this costs 6,000 GBP and occasionally the cluch gets switched at the same time and costs 5,000 GBP.
notes: wheels are made from magnesium and can't be repaired. replacement costs 5,500 GBP
Bugatti Veyron (these prices are just hilarious)
launch price: 975,000 gbp (2007)
service costs: 1st one is 13,645 GBP (bugatti claim that 6,000 GBP is for labor alone).
They insist you replace the tires every 2,500 miles and each tire costs 6,325 GBP and only Bugatti can fit them.
all 4 wheels need to be replaced every 3 tire changes(7500 miles tops) and that costs 29,900 GBP.
notes: Veyron warranty is 2 years and if u want to extend for a year its 38,000 GBP or 63,000 GBP for 2
Here is the chart they attached:
Also note that that 1 GBP = 1.65 USD(at the time of this post) so if you wanted to know how much that costs us, multiply the numbers by 1.65.
I'd do it myself but at least one person will see this post a few days later and claim the conversions are bad.

Re: True cost of supercar ownership
I read an article about the GTR recently and how the 1st oil changes costs around $2500. The oil itself is around $110 a quart at the dealership.
But if you have the money, why the fuck would you care about how much maintenance costs. At your level, you could get rid of it, and get a new one, and still make bank.
