Transmission conversion
So I at the beginning of last summer, I was handed down my brothers 96 Acura Integra SE. I like it a lot, but, alas it is not manual, its a silly automatic. It bugs me so much to know if it was simply manual I could make a decent car out of it. But it just sits there, like a slowly dying dog. You cant teach it anything knew. So is there any hope of converting the transmission from auto to manual?

Re: Transmission conversion
Not by myself no. But my brother (a.k.a. Snarf) told me it wasnt so difficult.

There's a search button... I can't do everything for you. This needs to be a learning experience or you'll get nothing out of it.

Re: Transmission conversion
You just have to buy a bunch of parts and swap everything over. Not hard, but a pain in the ass though. You'll be best off getting everything you need from a junked car, except the transmission because that probably won't still be there.

Re: Transmission conversion
Yeah, I espeicialy since the transmissions on my kind of Integra is weak, I can already feel it about to go. When I step on the gas more then usualy it will take a few seconds to actualy start excelerating, then theres a large BURST of torque and it starts to go. Nothing about that seems healthy to me.
