Tire question
I have a slow leak in one of my front tires, and I have been just topping up the air in it as it is really slow (about 2-3psi down after a couple weeks).
All the tires are relatively new, with about 3-4k miles on them, is it ok to just replace the one, or better to replace both the front two as it is a FWD car?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Tire question
Why not have them repair the one that is leaking . Take it back to the tire shop that installed them and have them find the leak. If its only 2-3 psi a week chances are its leaking around the bead where the tire meets the rim. I work at a tire shop and most of the time its corrosion or the bar code that is on the tire .

Re: Tire question
Did you check for nails/punctures/etc?
If this^, plug or patch.
Not a good idea to plug high performance tires IF YOUR DO HIGH PERFORMANCE DRIVING on them though. If it's just a daily, tires are to expensive to just replace if you get a hole.

Re: Tire question
if its a steel wheel it very well could be corrosion at the beat like venice said.
I would take it to a bath tub or any tire place and see exactly where it is leaking from and go from there. leaky tires are annoying.

Re: Tire question
I had a small leak on one of my back 285 40 ZR 17 GSD3 and it would loose about 10-15psi a week. It was annoying since it wasn't in a place that was patchable (right near the sidewall).
I just made sure I checked it everytime I filled up with gas and it worked for about 4 months and about 6K worth of hwy driving.
However it started leaking worse and I finally just said fuck it and replaced both rears.
If you're only losing 2-3psi every couple of weeks, then it might just be temperature variations.

Re: Tire question
Did they replace the valve stems? Some shady shops wont do that and it can cause a slow leak. It's unlikely it's leaking around the rim, if you have good wheels that is, but occasionally the stupid barcode sticker will end up between the bead and the rim. If it can be patched, just get that done, no use in blowing another hundred bucks or so over a 10 dollar fix.

Re: Tire question
Aluminium wheels will corrode if moisture gets between the rim and the tire bead. 2-3 pounds every couple weeks might be the weather changing just check them all and see if any of the other wheels are losing air . Expensive or cheap wheels will corrode , in work we have a customer with a Toyota Highlander w/factory wheels that just seem to leak . Ask the place who installed them if they cleaned the wheels where the bead seats . If you were local i would give you my works address so you could come down and get it fixed .
