Im in a situation where i need to buy a newer reliable car with AC! I have always wanted a drop top and for the money the S2K looks like a good contender. I would appreciate feedback from any S2K owners or opinions from experience. Any certain years better then others? Anything i should look for when buying used? (I.E. convertible top damage)

2000-2001 have a plastic rear window with no defroster. They also do not have tweeters in the doors.

A glass rear window was added in 2002 and the audio system was upgraded. That alone would keep me away from the early years. It's not too uncommon to find a early car that has a newer top, however. They seem to get cut often.

02 to 03 better years but you can get 00-01 cheaper and then add newer top

All the '00-'03s are pretty similar and they're all great cars. If you have the money go with an '02-'03 since they have a few extra conveniences and updates and make a *little* extra power. Plus they'll likely have less miles.

DO NOT GET ANYTHING NEWER THAN AN '03!!!

Correct me if im wrong but 2000-2001 had the 9k redline and the 02 and up have a 8200 redline. 9k rules all.

Nope. '00-'03 had the F20 with the 9K redline. '04+ have the F22 with the dookie redline.
