is there some kind of chart that tells what size tires fit certain width wheels?
title says it all....i'm trying to find out if a 185 tire will fit a 6.5'' wide wheel...

you could fit 205's on it i believe
i had 170's on my 5.5" wide steelies haha

that is whats on the rims right now, but can i go skinnier, like a 185? they are circuit 8's if that helps

yes 185's will fit on a 6.5 " wheel
vbtuner how wide are your wheels? 185's on a 7" wheel might be VIP

185mm divided by 25.4mm/inch equals 7.28 inches wide. That will fit fine on a 6.5" wheel.

thanks guys, i appreciate the help 
i figured the wheels the tires came off of were 6.5'' but i wasn't positive

best thing is to go to your tire manufacturer's website and look at the recommended "rim width range" for the size of tire your looking at... tirerack also publishes this info for all the tires they sell...
