Is there a new code for exhausts in VA?
 

My understanding is that in the tidewater area their cracking down on aftermarket exhausts. Anyone know what the new criteria are for "Legality"?

No "new" criteria. It's illegal and has been for years.

anythin other than factory/stock/oem etc, is illegal

just dont' get a muffler that sounds like a weed wacker...or anything that is soo loud u can't hear yourself think and u shuold be ok

I dont get it either, friggin Harley's are louder any car I've ever heard and I havent ever seen one get pulled.

Just get a stock exhaust with a cutout. Personally i think exhausts are annoyingly loud, even on my car, and their only use is to free up some HP when racing, so just get a cutout.

its not just loudness, its emissions and pollution and crap. but yes, loudness too, but i think the point is that with aftermarket exhuast your making it louder. harleys cant help it.:dunno:
